Recent Advances towards Integration of Emerging Technologies in Internet of Things(RAIET)

Call For Papers

The internet has drastically evolved from static to ubiquitous phase throughout the last few decades. The phenomenon of connecting physical objects via Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) has become a major concern of internet besides facilitating seamless communication. In extension to this, The WSN has been integration with ubiquitous computing over the internet that gave birth to the notion of Internet of Things (IoT). Among employed short-range and long-range communication technologies in IoT notion, the former are fulfilling most of the communication needs in an IoT environment. Thus it highlights the necessity for a low power and low-cost infrastructure. Though the rich attempts are on the scene in developing universal structure for seamless and ubiquitous computing, yet this research is still challenging in its low power universal communication paradigm perspective. The end points of ubiquitous computing can be interconnected through Cloud Computing (CC) environment to extend the functional diversity and services of IoT. This conceptual framework of IoT notion is named as internet-centric. Realizing the IoT paradigm with low-level cloud computing is another aspect of this integration where the proposed multiple platforms are mainly based on three assumptions, Swift data acquisition, transparent and scalable processing of this acquired data, and efficient and understandable output of any detected phenomenon of interest. The advances in high speed internet technologies (LTE-advanced, and WiMAX Release 2, other IEEE new standards) exponentially leverage the efficient and reliable inter-communication of IoT objects. But plenty of issues w.r.t. efficiency, protocol standardization, seamless communication, fast and ubiquitous cloud computing, and generic communication paradigm are hindering this high pace. This invites the worldwide researchers, academicians and other market players to keep on contributing in alleviating these issues for better future ahead. This special issue is soliciting high quality unpublished manuscripts presenting original work.
