Over the last decades there has been a significant growth of the computer vision area.Various algorithms and approaches have been developed and applied so far.Nowadays,many systems have been used in everyday life in order to make it easier,more convenient or safe.These systems are becoming more and more intelligent thanks to the sophisticated and advanced solutions from the computer vision area.The ICVSA 2017 Special Session at the 9thAsian Conference on Intelligent Information and Database Systems (ACIIDS 2017) is devoted to the recent advances in theoretical and practical aspects of intelligent computer vision systems and applications.The main goal of this special session is to give the researchers the opportunity to meet and discuss new trends and research directions as well as present their current work.
