Soft Computing, rather than routine “hard” computing, is a procedure that exploits the tolerance for imprecision, uncertainty, and partial truth in order to achieve tractability, robustness, low cost solutions, and close to human mind. The soft computing technologies like fuzzy logic, rough sets, soft sets, artificial neural networks and evolutionary algorithms have been applied successfully to data mining, natural language processing, bio-informatics, medical and u-health, social sciences, manufacturing, economics, and business.
Recently, due to the advent of ubiquitous technologies and the urgent need for ubiquitous intelligence, the research on soft computing intelligence has attracted immediate attention of researchers. Besides these, domains like smart factory, smart medic, and engineering applications may also be considered as prospective candidates for soft computing applications. IWSCA-2017 is the next edition of IWSCA-2016 (Auckland, New Zealand), IWSCA-2015 (Liverpool, UK) and aims to attract researchers and practitioners from communities of soft computing, computational intelligence, to share their ideas, innovations, research achievements and recent research issues of soft computing. We solicit original, unpublished, and innovative research work on applying any intelligent technologies and methods to all aspects around the theme of this workshop. All accepted conference papers will be included into the IEEE conference proceedings published by IEEE Computer Society Press (indexed by EI). At least one of the authors of any accepted paper is requested to register the paper at the conference.
Once accepted, the paper will be included into the IEEE conference proceedings published by IEEE Computer Society Press (indexed by EI). At least one of the authors of any accepted paper is requested to register the paper at the conference.
Distinguished papers selected from the conferences and associated workshops, after further extensions, will be recommended for submission and publication in the prestigious journals or their Special Issues.
