CCSC-MS: 2017 Programming Contest Rules

The programming contest is to be held during the CCSC Mid-South 2017 Conference. This conference will be hosted on the campus of Lyon College in Batesville, Arkansas during the dates of March 31 and April 1. The contest is a programming competition among teams of students representing institutions of higher education.

Contest Computing Environment

The programming languages of the contest will be C, C++, and Java. A detailed description of the programming environment will be sent to each team prior to the date of the contest.

Each team will use a single workstation. The contest directors are responsible for determining that teams have reasonably equivalent computing resources.

Except for simple watches, teams may not have any electronic devices in their possession during the contest. This includes, but is not limited to, phones and other communication devices, calculators, calculator watches, PDAs, electronic translators or dictionaries, e-books, audio players/recorders, video players/recorders, scanners, and printers. Mere possession of such a device will result in immediate disqualification, regardless of whether or not it was used. Teams may not possess any machine-readable electronic, optical or magnetic media during the contest unless provided by the site explicitly for contest use. Violation of this rule will result in immediate disqualification, regardless of intent or whether the media were actually used.
