This research study sought to investigate how the concept of transmedia storytelling had been studied in both the United
States and South Korea. The general objective of this research was to discover whether researches in the United States
and South Korea studied the concept of transmedia storytelling differently and whether researchers in both the United
States and South Korea have focused on different aspects of transmedia storytelling. Qualitative methods were used in the
study. A systematic review was used as a method of data collection and analysis. The results of the study have revealed
that the difference between studies that have been done in the United States and South Korea on the concept of transmedia
storytelling have discernible differences. The only slight differences are with respect to the use of mobile technology and
the scope and nature of the channels through which transmedia is experienced.
