Mobile cloud computing (MCC) is an emerging computing approach which can be served as an important enabler for Internet of Things (IoT) applications and services. MCC extends the capabilities of mobile devices (including smart-phones, tablets, sensors, etc.) using the massive resources offered by cloud datacenters. Other than classical cloud servers situated on the internet, the edge cloud or cloudlet can be used as computation and storage resources, as well. Although the capacity of the edge cloud may be lower than the classical cloud, its proximity to end-users and dense geographical distribution can lead to reduced latency, improved QoS and better mobility support for IoT’s applications and services.
With a market value of US$9.5 billion in 2014, MCC is supposed to become a major filed of Industrial growth and competition in next few years. Besides, high capacities offered by the 5th generation (5G) mobile network is expected to cause rapid development and further popularity of mobile services, pushing the MCC market.
This one-day workshop intends to bring together researchers and professionals working on all areas relevant to mobile cloud computing. The industrial participation or joint academic and industrial papers are highly appreciated. Both regular and vision papers can be submitted for the review process. All submissions must describe original research, not published or currently under review for another workshop, conference, or journal.
Authors are invited to submit an unpublished original work that must not have been submitted to an other conference, workshop or journal. All papers will be peer-reviewed by members of the Program Committee of the Workshop and be evaluated for originality, significance of the contribution, technical correctness and presentation. The maximum length of workshop Papers is limited to 8 pages, including all figures, tables, and references. However, up to 2 extra pages may be purchased at $50 (US dollars) per extra page.
Papers need to be prepared according to the IEEE CPS format via IEEE Manuscript Templates for Conference Proceedings.
Papers of a workshop of IEEE ATC 2016, must be submitted through the following specific EasyChair submission website , specifying the Workshop where you want to submit your paper so that it can be reviewed by the appropriate Workshop Program Committee and its reviewers.
