Introduction
The study of Consumer Behavior is important to the marketers, as it enables them to understand and predict buying behavior of consumers in the marketplace. It is concerned with what consumers buy, why they buy, when they buy, where they buy, how they buy, how often they buy, how they consume, and how they dispose. As a consumer, we are all unique, and this uniqueness is manifested in our consumption pattern and purchasing decisions. The quality of a marketer depends on knowing, serving, influencing the consumers. The main purpose of a business is to create and keep customers. Therefore, there exists a need to strengthen our knowledge further, and this can only be possible by generation of new knowledge, in the form of a book.
Objective
This book tries to provide an in-depth perspective on various aspects of Consumer Behavior, and intends to understand the subject at macro level. As there is a constant change in the living standards, taste, preference, trend, fashion and technology; understanding consumer behavior is of foremost importance. Therefore, this book would delve into relevant theoretical framework, with examples, case studies and research findings, in order to enhance knowledge about this field.
Target Audience
The target audience of this book would comprise of students from management and interdisciplinary domains at graduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. This book would also cater to the requirements of corporate professionals and policy makers, who are concerned with the study of behavioral pattern of consumers. Moreover, this book would be applicable across different parts of the globe, and would not be limited to the territorial boundary of a particular nation.
