FOCS 2026 — 67th IEEE Symposium on Foundations of Computer Science

November 8–11, 2026, New York City, New York, USA

Scope & Topics

FOCS 2026 is the 67th IEEE Symposium on Foundations of Computer Science, one of the world's premier conferences in theoretical computer science. The symposium provides an international forum for researchers to present the latest advances in the theory of computation and related disciplines.

The conference welcomes original research contributions covering theoretical foundations, mathematical techniques, algorithms, computational models, and emerging areas of theoretical computer science.

Authors are invited to submit original, unpublished research papers describing significant advances in theory, methodology, and applications within the scope of the conference.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Algorithms and Data Structures
  • Computational Complexity
  • Approximation Algorithms
  • Randomized Algorithms
  • Online and Streaming Algorithms
  • Distributed and Parallel Computing
  • Quantum Computing
  • Cryptography and Security
  • Coding Theory
  • Computational Geometry
  • Graph Algorithms and Graph Theory
  • Algorithmic Game Theory
  • Communication Complexity
  • Machine Learning Theory
  • Optimization
  • Logic and Formal Methods
  • Computational Learning Theory
  • Theoretical Aspects of Artificial Intelligence

Paper Submission

Authors are invited to submit original and unpublished research papers through the official conference submission system. Submitted papers must present significant theoretical contributions and must not have been previously published or be under review elsewhere. All submissions will undergo a rigorous peer-review process conducted by the Program Committee.

Publication

Accepted papers will be published in the official IEEE Symposium Proceedings and will be available through the IEEE Xplore Digital Library. FOCS continues its tradition of presenting high-quality research in the foundations of computer science.

Important Dates

Paper Submission Deadline : April 1, 2026 (5:00 PM EDT / 21:00 UTC)
Notification of Acceptance : July 3, 2026
Camera-Ready Due : To Be Announced
