2021 Call for Proposals
Pedagogicon is a national peer-reviewed conference, focused on teaching and learning. Each year, the conference attracts hundreds of scholars throughout Kentucky and beyond, to exchange ideas and strategies centered on relevant themes.
The conference theme, “Agile Teaching & Learning,” encourages us to examine and promote responsive strategies for teaching and learning that encourage resilient, engaged, and dynamic approaches within and across online, hybrid, and flexible higher-education environments.
Do you have an exceptional strategy to share? Do you have a new theory or practice that might enhance teaching and learning, faculty development, or student engagement at your institution and beyond? Presenters are encouraged to engage participants through interactive activities, demonstrations, or discussions.
Threads might include but are not limited to:
● New or emerging concepts, definitions, and practices that advance understandings of agile teaching;
● Strategies that promote flexibility amid changing higher education teaching and learning environments (across on-ground, online, and hybrid spaces);
● Use of technology, media, or tools to enhance agile teaching and learning;
● Creative instructional techniques that engage students in online, hybrid, and/or flexible learning experiences;
● Teaching and learning strategies that promote resilience;
● Faculty development initiatives, programs, and processes that have facilitated successful online, hybrid, and/or flexible teaching and learning;
● Strategies for incorporating diversity, culturally responsive pedagogy, and/or inclusive excellence into agile teaching, especially as it relates to the design of online, hybrid, and/or flexible learning;
● High-Impact Educational Practices that transfer across and enhance online, hybrid, and/or flexible learning;
● Student or student-instructor perspectives focused on agile teaching and learning; and
● New approaches for employing Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) methods to enhance student learning in online, hybrid, and/or flexible environments.
Presenters will also have the opportunity to submit their work for consideration in the annual Proceedings, to be published in late 2021.
