Details about the Conference.
The theme of the ICBDS-2023 Conference is “Digitization and Sustainability”. The growing digital transformation and awareness about sustainability are dramatically changing the business landscape. Almost every aspect of business has changed to a greater or lesser extent. Digital transformation has emerged as a top priority on leadership agendas and among scholars worldwide in the era of increased uncertainty. Digital transformation is described typically as a strategic change using digital technologies that result in changed products, processes, improved customer engagement, and new organizational structures. An unprecedented wave of digitalization is occurring by relying on the convergence of SMAC technologies – social, mobile, analytics, and cloud computing – that fuel innovation in society and business. Additionally, organizations today have begun to realize the importance of ensuring all stakeholders’ social welfare for sustainable business operations, besides the economic objective of profit maximization, e.g., innovative goods and services, operation efficiency, resource, and capacity utilization. Sustainability is viewed as a source of innovation and new growth among business managers. Therefore, leaders have growing expectations from the promise of digital transformations and sustainable performance to make a strategic contribution to their businesses’ survival and success. In line with this, ICDBS-2023 provides a much-needed platform for academicians, researchers, and industry professionals to address these challenges of the digital era.
About UPES
UPES is the first domain-specific University recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Presently UPES has 13000+ students pursuing their courses, spread across 88 programs (at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctorate levels) in the domains of Energy, Logistics and Supply Chain, Aviation, Entrepreneurship, and Power management. In addition, the Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) and the Centre for Aviation Studies (CAS), UPES, offer Executive programs through the distance-learning mode for working professionals. The industry-focused courses taught by 800+ senior and permanent faculty and over 50+ visiting faculty members have also been received very well by the Industry.

A team of 75 plus faculty members with a rich background of IITs, NITs, IIITs, JNU and other central universities at the School of Business, UPES is committed to promote and deliver good quality research in the areas of applied economics and management science. It has been ranked number 41 across all business schools in India in the NIRF rankings for 2022. The school is creating a robust ecosystem that facilitates and provides all support systems to our faculty members and scholars to pursue research in their areas of interest. Research scholars are encouraged to contribute through quality papers published in Scopus-indexed journals, Case studies, books, and funded projects. Our team has been organizing many capacity-building programs such as FDPs, Meet the editor series and Research Seminar.
We invite doctoral students, academicians, researchers, practitioners, policymakers and leaders to deliberate on current issues of management, initiate collaborative efforts, and contribute to the existing knowledge pool. We look forward to welcoming you to the ICBDS - 2023 Conference. We encourage your participation in all functional areas of management.
